Happenings

I am dreadfully horrible at coming up with inventive post titles. I just decided it was about time for my annual blog post. Bunches of things happen in my life, but I can never seem to remember them. I do have a few random stories though.

First, roommates. There were two new ones that came this semester; the rest I lived with last semester. I'll start with the Core Four (that's what we decided to call the original roommates that are still here today). Silly name really, but there it is. Anyway, Raleigh and Alyssa are roommates. They are from Perry and Brigham City, Utah.

Alyssa is a vocal performance major, and she's adopted. One of about 3 black people in Utah. Ha, she takes all the stupid racist jokes rather well (no worries everyone, I don't really participate in that).

Raleigh is a music ed major, and she's dating one of the boys from my iTeam last semester. That gets awkward sometimes. :) Last semester was the first for these two.

Then there is my roommate, Jocie. Well actually her name is Jocelyn. I hardly ever call her that though. She's pretty much the coolest. Without a doubt my favorite person I've met up here. She is from California and will be 22 next month. She's trying really hard to help me not hate sports haha.

Now the two new roommates. Ashley is from Washington and she will graduate in July. She's an English major, creative writing emphasis. She also has two clusters (minor equivalent) in history and acting. She's pretty funny. And also very short. I think she's five foot.

Then there's Stephanie. When I facebook stalked her prior to moving in I discovered she was Asian and I was pretty much super excited. Then she got here and I found out she's actually half Korean, and from California. Last semester I kinda got into Korean stuff. Like Korean dramas and kpop (Korean music). She does all sorts of Asian things. She eats weird looking Korean food, and has flat chopsticks that she eats her ramen with. Her ramen is even Korean! It's way good too. All in all it's pretty interesting.

We have had some minor problems. Well, maybe not really problems. Not open conflict, just Stephanie has had people over past curfew a couple of times and we had to talk to her. Also, it would seem as though Jocie and myself are the only ones who know how to do dishes sometimes. That has improved though. I'm sure everything will be just lovely! I really do like them all. Dishes have been a problem every semester, oddly enough.

Couple of funny random stories. Actually they are mostly embarrassing. One night I was laying in my bed working on homework or something, and I sat up to grab something from my desk. As I sat up I fell off my bed. My dresser sort of sticks up from under my bed so I ended up tumbling onto the dresser and then rolling off to the floor. It kinda hurt a bit and Jocie definitely laughed at me. A few days later my shoulder was really hurting and I couldn't figure out why...then I realized. I am such an old lady.

I few days later I was chopping some sort of vegetable and I cut myself on the knife. It was just a little cut, but it bled a bit. The next day I was poking holes in a potato and accidentally stabbed myself with the fork. That hurts a lot! I told this story to Dad and he said, "I guess you'll just have to do something with a spoon now!" We'd hate to leave out one of the utensils.

I'm rather proud of myself for having successfully made my way to Rexburg by myself, and this weekend drove home and back again. Some of the way through snow even! Maybe I can be an adult. I've also been cooking dinners this semester. Jocie and I go in on groceries and then I make actual real food. I even use vegetables! I feel quite accomplished.

Anyhow, that's about all I have for now. Rather boring, but I'm having fun and I'm happy. I took my first math test this weekend and got a B on it. No one scoff, I was very exceedingly proud! I don't think I've ever gotten higher than a C on a math test. Hopefully next time I write something I'll have a good story.

Peace!

Charity
